Extension of the European Cybersecurity Seminars program with new AI component

Cyber and AI

Google.org and the European Cyber Conflict Research Incubator are excited to announce the extension of the European Cybersecurity Seminars program to all 27 EU countries.  Universities from any EU country – other than the seven EU countries receiving grants in the initial phase – are invited to apply to a second Open Call, launching on 8 April 2024.

Selected universities in the program extension will also receive up to $1 million in funds and access to Google’s technology and expertise, as well as educational materials and guidance from ECCRI CIC. Relevant resources will be translated into additional languages to meet the needs of selected universities.

The program extension will include an additional Artificial Intelligence (AI) component, providing students with an understanding of AI-based changes to the cyber threat landscape. It will also provide a separate toolkit for students, focusing on how AI can be effectively integrated into practical cybersecurity measures. The additional AI component will be integrated into both the initial and extended programs, and made available to all EU countries.

More details on the extension, including eligibility, timelines, and how to apply will be available when the second Open Call launches on 8 April.
